George Will: “He went to Massachusetts to campaign against Scott Brown. Scott Brown is now a senator. He went to New Jersey to campaign against Chris Christie, who’s now the governor. He went to Virginia to campaign against Bob McDonnell, who’s now governor. He campaigned for the health care plan extensively, it became less popular. He campaigned in 2010 for the Democrats, they were shellacked. He began, in a sense, his presidency flying to Copenhagen to get Chicago the Olympics. Chicago was the first city eliminated. There is no evidence that the man has rhetorical powers he is relying on”

This is one heck of an awesome quote from George Will:
“He went to Massachusetts to campaign against Scott Brown. There is no evidence that the man has rhetorical powers he is relying on.”

Many have suggested there is a schism within the Republican Party between the tea-party wing and the so-called GOP establishment. But has the tea party taken over the Republican Party?

On ABC’s “This Week” Sunday, Washington Post columnist George Will explained, as he has in the past, that there is no Republican establishment anymore. However, he had a different take on it this time.

“There is no Republican establishment,” Will said. “Its newspaper died, the Herald-Tribune in New York in 1966 and it died too … Look, Google the Republican establishment and you’ll get 20 million hits. Google the Loch Ness monster and you’ll get a whole bunch. “

Will then said that if there is a GOP-establishment, it is now the tea party.

“They are the establishment today if there is such a thing,” he declared. “The Republican establishment died at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1964 when Goldwater was nominated against their frenzied wishes.”
