Good Grief: Detroit Free Press reports on Sarah Palin's pre-marital sex life, ignored John Edwards sex scandal while Pres candidate, still hasn't run any stories on Obama's past

What's wrong with the freep's sports section here?:
Is that really sports news? Is it really news at all? From The Detroit Free Press: Book: Sarah Palin had fling with Michigan basketball star Glen Rice
The National Enquirer reports in the book “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” -- due to be released Tuesday -- that the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate had a fling with former Michigan basketball player Glen Rice.

As the story goes, each was single in 1987, when Palin was a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU and Rice played for the Wolverines, who were in town for the Great Alaska Shootout tournament.

Palin would’ve been 23 at the time, Rice 20.

The book was written by Joe McGinniss. The Enquirer, in a story posted this morning, says McGinnis quotes Rice as confirming the report.
Funny that the freep is publishing something from The National Enquirer, because they ignored a far more important Enquirer story just a couple of years ago. That same rag mag scooped the geniuses at The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Detroit Free Press and other bastions of liberal reporting who saw fit to simply spike the story and got scooped by the Enquirer... by 6 months! (NYT: The National Enquirer Earns Some Respect (The NYT Itself Has Little If Any Left)) That's right - the Free Press refused to run a story from the Enquirer on a sex scandal by a Democratic Party Presidential candidate, but is publishing this one on the non-scandal pre-marital behavior of a private citizen.

And by the way, where is the expose on Obama and his young years, including all the cocaine use? Who did he sleep with? What did he dabble in? Des the freep really care, or are they just feeding their Palin Derangement Syndrome and that of the legion of lefties out there? An appropriate quote via Instapundit:

HEH: “Liberal Bloggers React To New York Defeat By Pushing Rumor That Sarah Palin Slept With A Guy And Did Coke. Which is hilarious because they immediately dismissed the exact same rumor about Obama in 2008.” Political history repeats itself. The first time as farce. The second time as, uh . . . farcier farce?
Speaking of that, from a prior post: Audio: Larry Sinclair Interview On Obama, Cocaine and Lies
Lastly, it's good to know the Detroit Free Press is doing it's part for Jim Hoffas cause: "Take those sons a bitches out!"

UPDATE: From Henry Payne over at The Michigan View:
This juicy nugget comes by way of Joe McGinniss's soon-to-be-published smearfest, "The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin" (yup, the same Joe McGinniss' who famously rented a house next door to Plain to do his book research) - his soon-to-be-published gossip log on the former veep candidate. The National Enquirer (natch) got its paws on the first tidbits which include the expected tawdry claims of drug use and racism.

All the details about a pol who never became veep that you ever wanted to know. Funny the same MSM was never curious about the details of the actual elected President Barack Obama's background.
Indeed.
