7:15pm: The payroll tax started out about 1% to a maximum of $3k in the 1930s. It's now more than 12% maxing out at more than $105,000. Social Security pays out more than it takes in. That will be exasperated by the payroll tax cut. If you go with a cut that way, which is fine with me, you have to lower the benefits to adjust.

7:54pm: Ed Schultz called the speech 'vague,'and has taken to reading between all the lines. Gives it a thumbs up anyway. Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz at the roundtable. MSNBC isn't even pretending anymore, are they?
