A couple of weeks ago, Weiner's old seat got handed to the GOP for the first time since the 1920s in a district that is 3-1 Democratic particularly because of the Jewish vote that Obama is losing over his anti-Israel stance. Obama banning medical devices he can't pronounce (asthma inhalers banned over 'environmental concerns')

I must have posted this video several dozen times already, usually associated with his propensity for gaffes:

And it's not just medical devices. Banned next will be the words 'intercontinental,' 'corpsman,' and the Austrian language. But there's real news here too - Obama, in what I can only guess is a pretext to saving money when ObamaCare is fully implemented, wants to kill of asthmatics: Obama Administration to Ban Asthma Inhalers Over Environmental Concerns

Remember how Obama recently waived new ozone regulations at the EPA because they were too costly? Well, it seems that the Obama administration would rather make people with Asthma cough up money than let them make a surely inconsequential contribution to depleting the ozone layer:

Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government's latest attempt to protect the Earth's atmosphere.

If you are caught in a flood, and you go out on your porch and piss into it, you are technically contributing to said flood. This doesn't even come close to that because the ozone depletion scaremongering of decades past was an utter hoax. in essence, there is no flood here to even piss into. 

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products.

The action is part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and other nations to stop using substances that deplete the ozone layer, a region in the atmosphere that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun.

But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.

The Atlantic's Megan McArdle, an asthma sufferer, noted a while back that when consumers are forced to use environmentally friendly products they are almost always worse:

Er, industry also knew how to make low-flow toilets, which is why every toilet in my recently renovated rental house clogs at least once a week.  They knew how to make more energy efficient dryers, which is why even on high, I have to run every load through the dryer in said house twice.  And they knew how to make inexpensive compact flourescent bulbs, which is why my head hurts from the glare emitting from my bedroom lamp.    They also knew how to make asthma inhalers without CFCs, which is why I am hoarding old albuterol inhalers that, unlike the new ones, a) significantly improve my breathing and b) do not make me gag.  Etc.

And the regulatory state continues to grow bigger, eating liberties and freedoms along the way. No matter what, the regulatory state just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Obama Repeats 'Intercontinental Railroad' Gaffe

In July I wrote this post that was really about Obama and the sycophantic media minions: Video: Dimwitted bimbo Sarah Palin claims Abraham Lincoln Built the "Intercontinental Railroad" (No Such Thing!). It was followed by this: Obama's Intercontinental Railroad Gaffe - Part 2. There is no such thing as an intercontinental railroad connecting either the US to Europe or Asia. Or South America for that matter.

And if Sarah Palin made such a gaffe, she would immediately be labeled a stupid bimbo unfit for any office. Months later, Obama repeats the gaffe. Via memeorandum, Andrew Malcolm gets the first part wrong: New gaffe: Obama hails America's historic building of ‘the Intercontinental Railroad’

"We’re the country that built the Intercontinental Railroad," Barack Obama.

That's what the president of the United States flat-out said Thursday during what was supposed to be a photo op to sell his jobs plan next to an allegedly deteriorating highway bridge.

A railroad between continents? A railroad from, say, New York City all the way across the Atlantic to France? Now, THAT would be a bridge!

It's yet another humorous gaffe by the Harvard graduate, overlooked by most media for whatever reason. Like Obama saying Abraham-Come-Lately Lincoln was the founder of the Republican Party. Or Navy corpseman. Or the Austrian language. Fifty-seven states. The president of Canada. Etc.

If you talk as much as this guy likes to talk instead of governing, if you believe you are a Real Good Talker as much as this guy does, you're gonna blow a few lines. But this many?

No doubt, we'll see a collection of Obama's Best Bombs on 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend, one right after the other. No doubt.

Liberal Media Bias: PBS Alters Transcript To Hide Obama Lincoln Gaffe

An update on this recent post: Idiot Sarah Palin Claims Lincoln "Founder" of Republican Party. Fact: Lincoln Joined GOP Years After Founding! It wasn't Palin of course, but rather Obama that made the gaffe:

That gaffe was hidden from the official PBS transcript. From American Thinker via Instapundit:

Lincoln did not join the Republicans until 1856, over two years after the party was founded. The first Republican convention was held in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1854.

Such a gaffe would have brought huge amounts of ridicule and derision on George W. Bush, but in the case of Obama the media yawned.

Actually, they did more than yawn; government-funded PBS has altered the transcript of the President's speech, removing the offending comment.

The New York Times transcript has the following quote:

"We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union.  Founder of the Republican Party.  But in the middle of a civil war, he was also a leader who looked to the future -- a Republican President who mobilized government to build the Transcontinental Railroad -- (applause) -- launch the National Academy of Sciences, set up the first land grant colleges.  (Applause.)  And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set."

But how does it appear in the PBS transcript?

"We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union.  But in the middle of a Civil War, he was also a leader who looked to the future - a Republican president who mobilized government to build the transcontinental railroad; launch the National Academy of Sciences; and set up the first land grant colleges.  And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set."

So PBS has purposely altered a transcript containing a major gaffe by the President.

But Insty later posted this:

Byron York emails that they’re lazy, not dishonest: “On the pbs obama transcript thing…I looked at the text of the speech that the white house sent out before it was delivered…and the transcript of the speech that the white house sent out after it was delivered…and he adlibbed the ‘founder of the republican party’ line…it wasn’t in the original text…it seems pretty clear to me that pbs simply posted the text of the speech on its website and went home…and the new york times posted the transcript of the speech, which is what he actually said…pbs was wrong, but i don’t think they altered the transcript.”

 However, their page does say transcript, rather than prepared text. They ended up fixing it after being called to the carpet. The Editor's Note says this:

The original transcript provided on this page, as was noted, reflected the president's remarks as prepared for delivery and released by the White House. This transcript has been updated to reflect the remarks as delivered and released by the White House.

Earth to PBS: "Prepared text" does not a transcript make! And this is where my tax money is going to?

Obama reads Psalm 46 at 911 ceremony, screws it up and unintentionally rebukes his own anti-Christian policies

Funny that Bloomberg banned Christian clergy and here comes O trying, and failing, to read scripture. The fail was epic. We all know that Obama is fond of bowing to people, especially Saudis, and when reading from the teleprompter yesterday read a part of Psalm 46 as 'bow' as in from the waist rather than bow as in bow and arrow (at the 1:18 mark of this vid in which I would add Obama looks uncomfortable and struggling in reading from the Bible):

If his name was Palin or Bachmann, it would have been a subject of ridicule in the press. Gateway Pundit has the shortened, focused video:

As Freeper ExSabotSender noted,

“If he had been familiar with text he would have know that Bow – is a reference to a weapon of war like in bow & arrow. Two more weapons of war follow in verse 9 – the spear & chariot. Instead he pronounced the word as Bow – to been at the waist, the front of a boat, or limb of a tree.”

Guess they didn’t teach that verse at Trinity United Church, huh?

But more curious than yet another gaffe is his attempted reading of Psalm 46 at all, which in its complete context is a rebuke against nations warring against God. And who in this country has been warring against God via liberal policies banning Him from the public square? Obama. By reading Psalm 46, he has rebuked himself! I'm pretty sure Obama didn't know it when he read it, and doesn't know it now.

The same guy that is purging God from America 'by design', has banned prayer at military funerals, leaves "By their Creator" Out of the Declaration of Independence, that Snubs ‘In God We Trust’ as the US Motto, that made sure to thank other people in his Thanksgiving proclamation in 2009, but not Almighty God, and dropped "Year of Our Lord" from another proclamation, the same one that by executive order disallowed faith-based organizations to conduct worship services while providing social programs funded with federal money, and the same guy that defended infanticide (not abortion but the murder of crying born babies left to die in soiled linen closets) as an Illinois Senator not once but 4 times claims once again to commune with God: Obama: ‘I Do A Lot Of Praying’

And he recently invoked the Bible to push for amnesty for illegal aliens:

"Immigration reform is a moral imperative, and so it's worth seeking greater understanding from our faith. As it is written in the Book of Deuteronomy [10:19], 'Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.' To me, that verse is a call to show empathy to our brothers and our sisters; to try and recognize ourselves in one another."And that has what to do with rewarding those that broke our laws? Since he mentioned empathy, he seems to have less than zero for unborn children, or even those that were born and left to die alone in soiled linen closets in Chicago. Since Obama used the Bible to push his radical agenda, let's not forget this: Flashback Video: Obama mocks the Bible in 2006. By his actions, Obama is a false prophet:

UPDATE:The Detroit Free Press thought it totally important to pen a piece dedicated to Obama's reading Psalm 46: Psalm 46 from the Bible, read by President Barack Obama at Ground Zero on Sunday. The one verse that Obama muffed reads "He breaks the bough and cuts the spear in two." What translation is that from? "Bough" is the front of a tree. It's not that way in any translation I am aware of. In any case though, the liberal media continues to try to paint Obama as a Christian, and continues to fail miserably.

Idiot Sarah Palin Claims Lincoln "Founder" of Republican Party. Fact: Lincoln Joined GOP Years After Founding!

Well this proves it. Sarah Palin is historically illiterate. Which for a Presidential candidate renders unto them idiot status. She claimed with a straight face that Lincoln founded the Republican Party. The fact is the GOP was founded in 1854 (right here in Jackson, MI) and not by Lincoln. Lincoln joined the party years later and was elected President in 1860.

So if you believe this proves Sarah Palin an idiot, take note that Sarah Palin didn't make that claim. One Barack Hussein Obama did! Obama FAIL: Lincoln Founder of Republican Party

I guarantee you that had Palin said the exact same thing she would have been skewered by liberal historians and the establishment MSM. As such, not a boo or peep from either group. Figures...

UPDATE: Obama Calls Lincoln 'Founder of Republican Party'?

In his Sept. 8 "jobs speech" (that was just a campaign speech) Obama called Abe Lincoln the "founder of the Republican Party." Unfortunately for The Obammessiah, Abe Lincoln was not even a member of the Republican Party when it was founded. Lincoln was a Whig Party member and became a Republican a little later. Now, will the media attack Obama for being so stupid not to know history like they attack Republicans? Don't hold your breath.
