Just keep in mind that in addition to allowing the victory mosque to be built, they are simultaneously deep-sixing a Greek Orthodox Church that was destroyed in the attack (more on that later). Via BreitbartTV:

Some relatives of people killed on September 11, 2001, as well as some firefighters and police officers gathered in Lower Manhattan on Monday to voice concern about the planned development of an Islamic center near Ground Zero.

Slow progress toward a new home halted last year when the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the Ground Zero site, broke off discussions with the church over where and how a new church would be built.
